Biography
Mark Benning (born April 19, 1964) is a former professional ice hockey defenseman from the United States. He was drafted 165th overall by the Boston Bruins in the 1983 NHL Entry Draft. Over the course of his career, Benning played for several teams in the National Hockey League (NHL) including the Bruins, the Winnipeg Jets, and the Philadelphia Flyers.
Benning enjoyed a fruitful career spanning a decade from 1984 to 1994. He became known for his solid defensive skills and ability to contribute offensively, recording significant point totals during his tenure. His most notable season came with the Bruins in 1986-87, where he achieved personal bests in goals and assists.
