Mark Murphy (born July 13, 1955) is a former professional American football player who played as a safety in the National Football League (NFL). He was selected in the second round of the 1977 NFL Draft by the Washington Redskins after a standout college career at Colgate University, where he was recognized for his athletic prowess and football intelligence.
During his NFL career, which spanned from 1977 to 1984, Murphy became known for his impactful gameplay and strong leadership on the field.
