Mark Turgeon, born on February 5, 1965, in Topeka, Kansas, is a former professional basketball player and a well-respected coach in American college basketball. He played college basketball at the University of Kansas under legendary coach Larry Brown, where he was an integral part of the Jayhawks' team that reached the NCAA Championship game in 1988. Turgeon was known for his leadership on the court as a point guard, eventually being drafted in the second round of the 1987 NBA Draft by the Seattle SuperSonics.
