Biography
Marvin Lewis, born on September 23, 1958, in McDonald, Pennsylvania, is a former American football linebacker and defensive coordinator, most notably recognized for his long tenure as the head coach of the Cincinnati Bengals in the National Football League (NFL). He played college football at the University of Idaho, where he earned All-American honors, before being selected in the 1981 NFL Draft by the New York Jets. Lewis's career as a player was brief, as he transitioned to coaching shortly after his playing days.
Lewis began his coaching career in college football before making his way to the NFL, where he gained prominence as a defensive coordinator for the Baltimore Ravens, leading the team to a Super Bowl XXXV victory.
