Biography
Mathieu Dandenault, born on February 3, 1976, in Longueuil, Quebec, Canada, is a retired ice hockey defenseman known for his versatility and strong defensive skills. He was drafted in the second round, 49th overall, by the Detroit Red Wings in the 1994 NHL Entry Draft. Dandenault made his NHL debut with the Red Wings during the 1996-97 season, contributing to the team’s success and winning the Stanley Cup that same year.
Throughout his 12-season NHL career, Dandenault also played for the Montreal Canadiens and the Phoenix Coyotes. He was recognized for his consistent performances and adaptability, often featuring in various defensive roles. After leaving the NHL, he continued his career in the American Hockey League (AHL) and also had a brief stint in Europe, where he further showcased his skills.
