Mathieu Garon is a retired professional ice hockey goaltender from Canada, born on January 9, 1978, in Mascouche, Quebec. He was drafted by the Los Angeles Kings in the fourth round, 44th overall, of the 1996 NHL Entry Draft. Garon began his professional career in the American Hockey League (AHL) with the Manchester Monarchs before making his NHL debut with the Kings during the 1999-2000 season.
Throughout his career, Garon played for several teams, including the Los Angeles Kings, Edmonton Oilers, Pittsburgh Penguins, Columbus Blue Jackets, and Tampa Bay Lightning. He achieved particular success with the Oilers, where he became known for his impressive saves and consistency in goal. Garon recorded his first NHL shutout on March 2004, and he was recognized for his performances with multiple nominations for the NHL's Best Save of the Year.
