Biography
Mats Näslund, born on October 31, 1959, in Örnsköldsvik, Sweden, is renowned as one of the most talented ice hockey forwards of his era. He began his professional career in Sweden with Modo Hockey, where he quickly established himself as a skilled player and a key contributor to the team. His outstanding performances in the Swedish league led to his selection in the 1983 NHL Draft, where he was picked by the Montreal Canadiens.
Näslund made his NHL debut with the Canadiens during the 1982-83 season and played a pivotal role in the team’s success. Over his career with Montreal, which spanned until 1990, he was part of the team that secured the Stanley Cup in 1986.
