Matt Foy is a former professional ice hockey forward born on May 18, 1983, in Whitby, Ontario, Canada. Foy began his junior career in the Ontario Hockey League (OHL), playing for the Peterborough Petes and the Toronto St. Michael's Majors. He was drafted 72nd overall by the Minnesota Wild in the 3rd round of the 2002 NHL Entry Draft, marking the beginning of his ascent into professional hockey.
Foy made his NHL debut with the Minnesota Wild during the 2005-06 season and played a total of 38 games with the team over the course of two seasons.
