Matt Hackett, born on March 7, 1990, in London, Ontario, Canada, is a former professional ice hockey goaltender known for his contributions to several teams in the American Hockey League (AHL) and the National Hockey League (NHL). He was drafted by the Minnesota Wild in the third round, 77th overall, of the 2009 NHL Entry Draft. Hackett quickly progressed through the Wild's minor league system, showcasing his skills with theHouston Aeros and playing pivotal roles during his tenure.
Throughout his career, Hackett played for teams such as the Minnesota Wild, where he made his NHL debut in the 2011-2012 season, and the Buffalo Sabres. He was recognized for his strong performances, particularly during the 2011 Calder Cup Playoffs, where he demonstrated his ability to compete at a high level and gained the respect of teammates and coaches alike.
