Mattias Weinhandl, born on June 1, 1980, in Stockholm, Sweden, is a former professional ice hockey player known for his skillful play as a forward. He began his career in the Swedish Hockey League (SHL) with AIK, where he quickly showcased his potential, earning recognition for his offensive capabilities. Weinhandl's exceptional performance in the Swedish junior leagues led to his selection in the 1999 NHL Entry Draft, where he was chosen 88th overall by the New York Islanders.
Weinhandl made his NHL debut during the 2000-2001 season, playing for the New York Islanders.
