Maureen Hester is a retired professional basketball player known for her exceptional skills as a guard. Born on April 15, 1990, in Springfield, Illinois, she showcased her talent at a young age, earning a scholarship to play for a Division I program at the University of Illinois. During her collegiate career, Hester averaged over 15 points per game and was named to the All-Conference Team multiple times.
After graduating in 2012, Hester was selected in the second round of the WNBA Draft by the Seattle Storm. Over a seven-year professional career, she played for the Storm and later for the Phoenix Mercury, earning two WNBA All-Star selections and winning a championship with the Storm in 2018. Known for her leadership, Hester also led the league in assists during the 2015 season, solidifying her reputation as one of the top playmakers in women’s basketball.
