Maxim Afinogenov, born on September 4, 1979, in Tolyatti, Russia, is a former professional ice hockey player who represented the United States in international competition. Drafted 37th overall by the Buffalo Sabres in the 2000 NHL Entry Draft, Afinogenov quickly made a name for himself in the league with his exceptional speed and skill. He made his NHL debut during the 2002-2003 season and went on to play a pivotal role with the Sabres for several years.
During his tenure with the Sabres, Afinogenov achieved notable success, including a career-high 73 points in the 2006-2007 season.
