Biography
Maxim Noreau, born on May 24, 1987, in Laval, Quebec, Canada, is a retired professional ice hockey player known for his defensive skills and offensive contributions from the blue line. He began his junior career with the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League’s (QMJHL) Montreal Foreurs before being selected in the 2nd round of the 2005 NHL Entry Draft by the Minnesota Wild. Noreau made his professional debut in the American Hockey League (AHL) with the Houston Aeros, where he quickly established himself as a key player.
Throughout his career, Noreau showcased his talent in both the AHL and NHL, appearing in a total of 40 games for the Minnesota Wild and earning a reputation for his two-way play. He also played significant roles on various teams in Europe, including stints in the Swiss National League A (NLA) and the Kontinental Hockey League (KHL), where he contributed to multiple championship runs. Notably, he was a member of the team that won the Swiss championship with HC Fribourg-Gottéron in 2015.
