Biography
Maxime Fortunus, born on July 28, 1983, in La Prairie, Quebec, is a retired Canadian professional ice hockey defenceman. He was drafted 208th overall by the Minnesota Wild in the 7th round of the 2002 NHL Entry Draft. Fortunus spent the majority of his career in the American Hockey League (AHL) and International Hockey League (IHL), where he established himself as a reliable two-way defenceman and a leader in the locker room.
Throughout his career, Fortunus played for several teams, including the Houston Aeros and the Texas Stars, with whom he won the Calder Cup in 2014.
