Mel Hirsch (July 31, 1921 – August 23, 2015) was an American basketball player known for his contributions to the sport in the post-World War II era. A native of Bridgeport, Connecticut, Hirsch played collegiate basketball at the University of Connecticut before entering the professional league. He made his mark in the Basketball Association of America (BAA) during the 1946-47 season.

In his professional career, Hirsch played primarily as a guard for the Boston Celtics, where he averaged 1.5 points per game, along with 0.8 assists per game in his only season. Despite limited statistical output, his presence on the court and ability to play at a high level added depth to the Celtics roster as they began to establish themselves in the basketball community.
