Merv Harvey (born April 29, 1918) was an Australian cricketer who made significant contributions to the sport during his career in the 1940s and 1950s. Primarily a right-handed batsman, he played as a middle-order specialist for the New South Wales team before representing Australia in international matches. His first-class career spanned from 1937 to 1954, during which he achieved notable success, including being a key player in the famous 1948 "Invincibles" Test series against England.
Harvey earned selection for the Australian national team, where he made his Test debut in 1946. Over the course of his international career, he participated in 12 Test matches, scoring a total of 703 runs at an average of 41.00, cementing his reputation as a reliable batsman. One of his career highlights includes a remarkable inning of 148 against England at the Melbourne Cricket Ground in 1947, showcasing his ability to perform in high-pressure situations.
