Michael Sands is a retired professional basketball player born on June 15, 1985, in Grand Rapids, Michigan. He was a standout guard at Michigan State University, where he helped lead the Spartans to a Final Four appearance in 2005. Following his collegiate success, Sands declared for the NBA Draft and was selected in the second round by the Charlotte Hornets in 2007.
