Biography
Michel Petit, born on February 12, 1964, in Saint-Étienne, Quebec, is a retired Canadian ice hockey player known for his defensive prowess and offensive contributions in professional hockey. Selected 15th overall by the New Jersey Devils in the 1982 NHL Entry Draft, Petit began his NHL career with the Devils during the 1983-84 season, subsequently playing for several teams including the Hartford Whalers, Toronto Maple Leafs, and the Vancouver Canucks.
Over his 15-season career in the NHL, Petit accrued significant achievements, including scoring over 200 points with more than 1,000 penalty minutes, showcasing his dual role as an impactful defenseman. He participated in the 1994 Winter Olympics, representing Canada, and contributed to his national team's success during a golden era of Canadian hockey.
