Biography
Miikka Kiprusoff, born on October 26, 1976, in Turku, Finland, is a retired professional ice hockey goaltender known for his outstanding career in the NHL. Drafted 116th overall by the New York Rangers in the 5th round of the 1995 NHL Entry Draft, Kiprusoff initially played for the Rangers' minor league affiliates before being traded to the Calgary Flames in 2003, where he achieved significant success.
During his tenure with the Flames, Kiprusoff emerged as one of the premier goaltenders in the league, winning the Vezina Trophy in 2005 and leading the Flames to the Stanley Cup Finals in 2004. His remarkable performances included setting a franchise record for wins and shutouts, as well as finishing his career with 319 wins, ranking him among the top goaltenders in NHL history.
Kiprusoff is widely regarded for his agility, quick reflexes, and ability to perform under pressure, contributing to his legacy as one of Finland's greatest goaltenders.
