Mikael Tellqvist, born on September 19, 1979, in Stockholm, Sweden, is a former professional ice hockey goaltender known for his contributions to teams in multiple leagues, including the NHL, the Swedish Hockey League (SHL), and the Kontinental Hockey League (KHL). Drafted 70th overall by the New York Rangers in the 2000 NHL Entry Draft, Tellqvist made a name for himself in the NHL playing for the Rangers, Toronto Maple Leafs, and Phoenix Coyotes during the early 2000s.
