Mike Costello is a retired professional basketball player known for his exceptional skills as a shooting guard during his career in the 1980s and 1990s. Born on March 15, 1965, in Chicago, Illinois, he excelled in high school basketball, earning All-State honors before playing college basketball at the University of Illinois. Costello's collegiate performance led to his selection in the 1987 NBA Draft, where he was picked in the second round by the New Jersey Nets.

Over the course of his seven-year NBA career, Costello played for several teams, including the New Jersey Nets, the Seattle SuperSonics, and the Toronto Raptors.
