Mike DeShay is a retired professional basketball player who gained prominence for his exceptional skills as a shooting guard during the late 1990s and early 2000s. Born on January 15, 1975, in Los Angeles, California, DeShay excelled at both the collegiate and professional levels. He played college basketball at the University of California, where he was named All-American in his senior year and led the team to multiple NCAA Tournament appearances.

DeShay was selected in the first round of the 1997 NBA Draft by the New York Knicks, where he quickly became known for his scoring ability and three-point shooting. Over his 12-year NBA career, he played for several teams, including the Knicks, Miami Heat, and the Orlando Magic, earning two All-Star selections and contributing to a playoff run that culminated in a conference finals appearance in 2000.
