Biography
Mike Eaves, born on June 10, 1956, in Weyburn, Saskatchewan, Canada, is a former professional ice hockey player and coach. As a forward, Eaves played college hockey for the University of Wisconsin in the 1970s, where he earned recognition as an exceptional talent. He was selected 92nd overall in the 1980 NHL Entry Draft by the Washington Capitals, marking the beginning of his professional career in the National Hockey League.
Eaves played parts of five seasons in the NHL, representing the Washington Capitals, Minnesota North Stars, and the Philadelphia Flyers. His playing career was characterized by his offensive skills, totaling 22 goals and 47 assists over 174 regular-season games. Following his playing career, Eaves transitioned into coaching, eventually serving as the head coach for the University of Wisconsin men's hockey team from 2002 to 2016, leading the team to an NCAA championship appearance in 2006.
