Biography
Mike Gundy, born on August 12, 1967, is a former American football player and current head coach known for his tenure in college football, particularly at Oklahoma State University. Gundy played quarterback at Oklahoma State from 1986 to 1989, where he set numerous passing records and showcased his leadership on the field. After his college career, he briefly played in the NFL, signing with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in 1990 and later the Pittsburgh Steelers, although he did not see significant playing time in the league.
Transitioning into coaching, Gundy began as an assistant at Oklahoma State in 1990 before taking roles at various universities, including as the offensive coordinator at Maryland. In 2005, he was appointed head coach at Oklahoma State, where he has since established himself as one of the top leaders in college football.
