Biography
Mike Kostka is a Canadian ice hockey defenseman, born on November 28, 1985, in Toronto, Ontario. He was drafted in the 7th round, 227th overall, by the Tampa Bay Lightning in the 2003 NHL Entry Draft. Kostka developed his skills in the junior leagues, notably with the Toronto St. Michael's Majors, before advancing to collegiate hockey with the University of New Hampshire.
Kostka made his National Hockey League debut during the 2011-2012 season, playing for the Tampa Bay Lightning. Over his career, he also played for the Toronto Maple Leafs, Chicago Blackhawks, and the New York Islanders, showcasing his versatility on the ice. One of his career highlights includes being a key component of the Chicago Blackhawks’ 2015 Stanley Cup championship team, contributing to their defense during the playoffs.
