Mike Mottau, born on March 19, 1978, is a retired American ice hockey defenseman known for his tenacity and leadership on the ice. He played collegiate hockey at Boston College, where he was a key contributor to the Eagles, culminating in a Frozen Four appearance. Mottau was drafted by the New Jersey Devils in the 7th round of the 1997 NHL Entry Draft, marking the beginning of his professional career.
