Mike Pelyk, born on September 29, 1947, in Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada, is a former professional ice hockey defenseman known for his notable contributions to the sport during the 1970s. Pelyk played junior hockey with the Winnipeg Warriors before being selected in the 2nd round of the 1965 NHL Amateur Draft by the Toronto Maple Leafs. His professional career spanned from 1966 to 1978, during which he played for several teams including the Toronto Maple Leafs, the California Golden Seals, and the Buffalo Sabres.
Pelyk made a significant impact in the National Hockey League (NHL) and the World Hockey Association (WHA).
