Mike Pitts is a former American football defensive tackle, born on September 25, 1960, in Vicksburg, Mississippi. He played college football at the University of Alabama, where he was an integral part of the team's defense, helping the Crimson Tide secure a national championship in 1979. Following a standout collegiate career, Pitts was selected by the Pittsburgh Steelers in the second round of the 1982 NFL Draft.
Pitts played professionally for 13 seasons in the NFL, representing the Pittsburgh Steelers, San Francisco 49ers, and the New York Giants. Known for his formidable presence on the defensive line, he contributed to several playoff runs and was part of the 49ers' roster during the 1995 season when they reached Super Bowl XXIX.
