Born on February 15, 1985, in Atlanta, Georgia, Ramming attended the University of North Carolina, where he played collegiate basketball from 2003 to 2007. His collegiate career was highlighted by leading the Tar Heels to an NCAA Championship in 2005, where he was instrumental in the team's success, earning All-ACC honors during his tenure.
After going undrafted in the 2007 NBA Draft, Ramming embarked on an international career, playing for various teams across Europe and Asia.
