Mike Schutz is a retired professional basketball player known for his impact on the court during the late 1990s and early 2000s. Born on March 15, 1975, in Bloomington, Indiana, Schutz gained recognition as a standout player at the University of Indiana, where he helped lead his team to multiple NCAA tournament appearances. After graduating with honors in Sports Management, he declared for the NBA draft.
Schutz was selected in the second round of the 1997 NBA Draft by the Portland Trail Blazers, where he quickly established himself as a reliable scorer and tenacious defender. Over his six-year professional career, he played for the Trail Blazers, as well as stints with the Denver Nuggets and the Chicago Bulls. His most notable season came in 1999, when he averaged 15.3 points per game and earned a place on the NBA All-Defensive Second Team.
