Mike Sherman, born on December 19, 1954, is a former American football player and coach, primarily recognized for his contributions to the National Football League (NFL). A versatile offensive lineman, Sherman played college football at Boston College, where he was noted for his tenacity and skill on the field. He was selected in the 8th round of the 1976 NFL Draft by the Washington Redskins, beginning his professional career.
Sherman enjoyed a fruitful playing career, spending a significant portion with the New England Patriots from 1976 to 1982 before concluding his NFL tenure with the Dallas Cowboys. Following his playing days, he transitioned to coaching, eventually serving as the head coach of the University of Wisconsin from 2002 to 2005.
