Mike Wente is a former professional basketball player known for his contributions in both collegiate and professional leagues. Born in 1964 in Chicago, Illinois, he played college basketball at the University of Michigan, where he was a standout guard from 1982 to 1986. Wente’s exceptional shooting skills and court vision helped lead the Wolverines to significant victories, culminating in a berth in the NCAA tournament.
Wente went undrafted in the 1986 NBA Draft but quickly found success in the Continental Basketball Association (CBA). He played for a number of teams, notably the Albany Patroons, where he became known for his scoring ability and leadership on the court. His time in the CBA solidified his reputation as a prolific shooter and earned him several All-Star selections, further enhancing his profile in the basketball community.
