Mikko Rämö, born on July 27, 1980, in Oulu, Finland, is a former professional ice hockey goaltender. He began his career in the Finnish league, representing teams such as Kärpät and Ilves, where he showcased his exceptional skills and earned recognition as a standout performer. Rämö was selected by the Tampa Bay Lightning in the sixth round of the 2001 NHL Entry Draft, marking the beginning of his journey in North American ice hockey.
During his time in the NHL, Rämö played for the Tampa Bay Lightning and the Los Angeles Kings, participating in a total of 63 regular-season games. Although he faced stiff competition for ice time, he displayed resilience and adaptability, often serving as a reliable backup goaltender. His performance in the American Hockey League (AHL) was notable, particularly with the Norfolk Admirals, where he honed his skills and contributed to the team's success during the 2003-2004 season.
