Milind Rege, born on February 16, 1949, in Mumbai, India, is a former Indian cricketer who made significant contributions to the sport during the 1970s and 1980s. A versatile left-handed batsman and a right-arm off-spin bowler, Rege earned his place in the Indian national team after gaining recognition in domestic cricket, particularly with the Mumbai Ranji Trophy team. His ability to perform under pressure helped him secure a spot as a reliable middle-order batsman.

Rege made his Test debut for India against New Zealand in 1976 and went on to play a total of 29 Test matches until his last appearance in 1981. During his international career, he scored 1,192 runs at an average of 42.57, with a best score of 224 not out against Sri Lanka in 1980, a notable achievement in Indian cricket history. He also featured in 5 One Day Internationals (ODIs), and his all-round skills contributed to several memorable victories for the Indian side.
