Nathan Lieuwen is a Canadian professional ice hockey goaltender born on August 8, 1991, in Abbotsford, British Columbia. He played junior hockey in the Western Hockey League (WHL) for the Spokane Chiefs and the Kootenay Ice, where he showcased his talent and earned recognition, ultimately being drafted by the Buffalo Sabres in the sixth round of the 2011 NHL Entry Draft.
Lieuwen made his professional debut with the Sabres' American Hockey League (AHL) affiliate, the Rochester Americans, in the 2012-2013 season.
