Nazr Mohammed

Nazr Mohammed, born on September 5, 1977, in Chicago, Illinois, is a former professional basketball player who played as a center in the National Basketball Association (NBA). After a standout high school career at Kenwood Academy, he played college basketball at the University of Kentucky, where he contributed to the team’s 1996 NCAA championship victory. Mohammed declared for the NBA Draft following his junior year and was selected by the Philadelphia 76ers as the 29th overall pick in the 1998 draft.

Throughout his 16-year NBA career, Mohammed had stints with several teams, including the Philadelphia 76ers, Atlanta Hawks, New York Knicks, and the San Antonio Spurs. He experienced his most productive years with the Spurs, where he became an integral part of the rotation and helped the team secure the 2005 NBA Championship.
