Following his collegiate success, he was selected in the second round of the 1994 NBA Draft by the Atlanta Hawks.
Throughout his six-year NBA career, Hellman played for multiple teams, including the Atlanta Hawks, Minnesota Timberwolves, and the Orlando Magic.
