Neil Sachse, born on January 3, 1951, is a former Australian rules footballer who played for the Fitzroy Football Club in the Victorian Football League (VFL) during the 1970s. Known for his exceptional skills and determination on the field, Sachse made his debut for Fitzroy in 1969 and quickly established himself as a key player. He played a total of 114 games and scored 32 goals for the club over his career.

Sachse's career was unfortunately marred by a severe spinal injury sustained in 1975, which resulted in him being rendered a quadriplegic. This life-altering incident did not deter him from making significant contributions to the sport and the community. Following his injury, he became an advocate for spinal cord injury research and support, raising awareness about the challenges faced by people with disabilities.

After his playing days, Sachse was honored with induction into the Australian Football Hall of Fame in recognition of his contributions both on and off the field.
