Neil Sheehy, born on February 9, 1960, in Calgary, Alberta, Canada, is a former professional ice hockey defenseman known for his robust playing style. Sheehy played junior hockey with the Calgary Centennials in the Western Canada Hockey League before being drafted in the 1980 NHL Entry Draft. He was selected by the New York Islanders, which marked the beginning of a career that would see him participate in both the National Hockey League (NHL) and the International Hockey League (IHL).
