Nelson Spruce, born on December 5, 1992, in Westlake Village, California, is a former professional American football wide receiver known for his collegiate success and brief tenure in the National Football League (NFL). Spruce played college football at the University of Colorado Boulder, where he emerged as a standout receiver, setting several school receiving records, including single-season receptions and career receptions. His performance earned him All-Pac-12 honors and placed him among the top receivers in college football during his senior season.
Spruce went undrafted in the 2016 NFL Draft but signed with the Los Angeles Rams as a free agent. He showcased his talents during the preseason, making a notable impact with several impressive performances, including a standout game against the Dallas Cowboys where he caught multiple passes. Despite the promise he displayed, Spruce was ultimately waived by the Rams before the regular season began, which marked a challenging yet formative period in his professional career.
