Niklas Hagman, born on December 5, 1979, in Ylivieska, Finland, is a retired professional ice hockey player known for his versatility both as a forward and a skilled playmaker. He began his career in the Finnish SM-liiga, where he played for teams such as Karpat and HIFK. Hagman's performance in Finland led to his selection in the 2001 NHL Entry Draft, where he was picked 194th overall by the Los Angeles Kings.
Hagman made his NHL debut with the Kings in the 2002-03 season, subsequently playing for several teams, including the Florida Panthers, Dallas Stars, Toronto Maple Leafs, and the Calgary Flames. He is best recognized for his time with the Dallas Stars, where he contributed significantly to the team's offensive output and was an essential part of the roster during the 2008-09 season.
