Nikola Peković, born on January 3, 1986, in the city of Nikšić, Montenegro, is a former professional basketball player who predominantly played as a center. He rose to prominence in European basketball during his early career, showcasing his potential with notable performances in domestic leagues. Peković's impressive physical presence and scoring ability quickly garnered attention, paving the way for his eventual transition to the National Basketball Association (NBA).
Peković began his professional career with the Montenegrin team Budućnost Podgorica before moving to play for several European clubs, including a standout season in 2007 where he averaged 17.9 points and 8 rebounds per game. In 2010, he joined the Minnesota Timberwolves in the NBA, where he became known for his dominant post play and rebounding skills.
