Oleg Saprykin, born on February 12, 1981, in Izhevsk, Russia, is a retired professional ice hockey player known primarily for his role as a forward. Saprykin began his career in the junior leagues of Russia before moving to the professional ranks, where he played for several teams in the Russian Superleague, including Ak Bars Kazan and HC Dynamo Moscow. His promising skills were recognized internationally, leading to his selection in the 2000 NHL Entry Draft, where he was chosen by the Ottawa Senators in the third round.
Throughout his NHL career, which spanned from 2003 to 2006, Saprykin played for the Ottawa Senators and the Phoenix Coyotes. He recorded notable performances during his tenure, particularly with the Senators, contributing to the team’s success as they reached the Stanley Cup Finals in 2007. After leaving the NHL, Saprykin returned to Russia, where he continued to play in the Kontinental Hockey League (KHL) for several seasons before ultimately retiring from professional play.
