Pat Haden, born on January 23, 1953, in Bellevue, Washington, is a former professional American football quarterback who played in the National Football League (NFL). He attended the University of Southern California, where he was a standout player for the Trojans, culminating in leading the team to a national championship victory in 1972. Haden was selected by the Los Angeles Rams in the 1975 NFL Draft, where he began his professional career.
During his time with the Rams from 1976 to 1981, Haden showcased his skills as a reliable and strategic quarterback, earning Pro Bowl selections in 1976 and 1977. Known for his leadership on and off the field, he played a significant role in revitalizing the Rams during a transitional period for the franchise. Haden's career was marked by his ability to read defenses and make precise throws, leading to numerous memorable performances, including a notable playoff victory against the Dallas Cowboys in 1979.
