Pat Swilling, born on October 25, 1964, in Memphis, Tennessee, is a former American football linebacker who played in the National Football League (NFL) for teams including the New Orleans Saints, Detroit Lions, and the Oakland Raiders. A standout athlete, Swilling attended Georgia Tech, where he was recognized for his exceptional defensive skills and was later selected in the third round of the 1986 NFL Draft by the Saints. He quickly established himself as a dominant force in the league.
Swilling became renowned during his tenure with the New Orleans Saints, especially in the late 1980s and early 1990s, when he was a key member of the "Dome Patrol," one of the most celebrated linebacker corps in NFL history.
