Patrick Eaves is a former professional ice hockey player born on May 1, 1984, in Castro Valley, California, United States. He was selected in the first round, 29th overall, by the Ottawa Senators in the 2003 NHL Entry Draft. Eaves played as a right winger and had a notable junior career, winning a gold medal with Team USA at the 2003 IIHF World U18 Championships.
During his NHL career, which spanned over a decade, Eaves played for several teams including the Ottawa Senators, Carolina Hurricanes, Boston Bruins, and the Detroit Red Wings. He was particularly recognized for his scoring ability and finished his career with a total of 120 goals and 237 points in 529 regular season games.
