Biography
Paul Elzey, born on May 13, 1946, is a former professional American football player who played as a defensive back in the National Football League (NFL). After a standout collegiate career at the University of Idaho, where he earned All-American honors, Elzey was selected by the New York Jets in the late rounds of the 1968 NFL Draft. He made a significant impact in his rookie season, contributing to the Jets’ defense during their historic Super Bowl III victory over the Baltimore Colts.
Throughout his NFL career, Elzey played primarily for the New York Jets and later the New England Patriots. Known for his exceptional speed and tackling ability, he recorded numerous interceptions and defended against the league's top receivers.
