Biography
Paul Laus, born on September 26, 1970, in Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario, is a former professional ice hockey player from Canada. Laus played as a defenceman and was known for his physical style of play and solid defensive skills. He was selected 195th overall in the 8th round of the 1989 NHL Entry Draft by the Florida Panthers.
Laus made his NHL debut in the 1993-94 season and played the majority of his career with the Florida Panthers, where he became a fan favorite. Over his career, he also spent time with the New York Islanders and the Philadelphia Flyers, accumulating a total of 456 NHL games, in which he registered 15 goals and 48 assists. Notably, Laus was part of the Panthers' roster during their memorable run to the Stanley Cup Final in 1996.
