Peng Shuai, born on January 8, 1986, in Xuzhou, Jiangsu, China, is a retired professional tennis player and doubles specialist. She turned professional in 2003 and quickly made a name for herself on the WTA tour, achieving notable success in both singles and doubles competitions. Over her career, Peng won a total of 23 WTA titles, including one singles title and 22 doubles titles.
One of Peng’s most significant career highlights came in 2014 when she reached the semifinals of Wimbledon in singles, marking her as the first Chinese woman to achieve this feat. In doubles, she attained the world No. 1 ranking in February 2014 and secured a Grand Slam title at the 2013 French Open alongside her partner, Hsieh Su-wei.
