Perry Fewell, born on September 7, 1962, is a former professional American football player and coach, notable for his contributions to the NFL. He played as a defensive back and a safety during his collegiate career at the University of Arkansas before being drafted in the eighth round of the 1985 NFL Draft by the Buffalo Bills. Fewell's playing career spanned from 1985 to 1990, where he had stints with the Bills, the New York Giants, and the Carolina Panthers.
After retiring from professional play, Fewell transitioned into coaching, rapidly ascending the ranks due to his expertise in defensive strategies. He served as the defensive backs coach for multiple NFL teams, including the Washington Redskins and the Chicago Bears, before becoming the defensive coordinator for the New York Giants.
